Sertao of Brazil: Sharing the challenges

Updated: Mar 31

Time of transformation in one of most arid places of Brazil

Northeast of Brazil is a beautiful and special place to go and spend a few days of vacation at the paradisiac beaches. Northeast people in Brazil are known for their simplicity and amazing hospitality, but the rural parts of Northeast are marked by poverty, suffering, and negligence caused by inequality in land tenure, a very dry and arid climate and exclusion from access to basic services such as health care, formal education, financial services, and skills training.

It is exactly in this area of so much suffering where God placed a team from WNI to fight against hunger and poverty through community development projects. In this way, the Kingdom is expanded and true transformation takes place.

From April 18th till 25th, a short mission trip team will be going to Sertao of Brazil. They will be working in community development, construction projects, evangelism, VBS, and discipleship. They will be serving the local church by caring for the elderly, loving the children, and working along with the leadership.

As the team gets ready to go, please take some time to pray for them:

- Pray for their health and protection (physical, emotional and spiritual health)

- Pray that they will be very sensitive to God’s voice and filled by the Holy Spirit to be led and serve according to the need

- Pray for the people they will be working with and the communities they will be serving. Pray that their hearts will be open to receive God’s word and be transformed by His Love.

Also, let us know if you want to go on some of our short term mission trips! We would love to hear from you!
