How To Make Friends and Be an Influencer
EASTER: A STORY OF LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 (ESV)
April is the month we will celebrate Easter this year. As we prepare for the celebration of life and victory over death that Jesus offered us on his resurrection day, we are reminded once again of God’s intense and everlasting love for humanity. Jesus' life and death was for me and for you. It's an open invitation to know Him personally, to be friends with Him - and also to be friends with other fellow humans in the same loving way.
So, what is the true meaning of Easter?
I- A proof of God's LOVE - "Greater love has no one than this...”
Resurrection Sunday is the biggest expression of love one could ever receive. Everything in Jesus' life was a representation of God's fierce and unconditional love for us, because He IS love. The Bible says that there's no greater love than for someone to give his life for his friend. And that was exactly what Jesus lovingly demonstrated at the cross: forgiveness, victory over death, and a love that surpasses all understanding.
II- A demonstration of humility - “that someone lay down his life”
God sent His one and only son to suffer and die for us. Jesus’ death on the cross was a necessary act of obedience and sacrifice: the payment for our sins so we could enjoy eternity with Him.
The Bible says in Phillipians 2:6-7 that Jesus "who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness". He experienced life in a decaying world, and suffered God's wrath at His death - in our place - so He could save His friends, even before we were given the chance to be friends with Him. How radical is that?

II - A reliable relationship - "for his friends"
The proof of friendship that Jesus gave us was his own life. Jesus loves you and me, He loves the saints and the sinners, the crowds and the close ones. And now He offers you the opportunity to be His friend.
Let’s take it to a more personal level—when we have a true friend we have no secrets with them. The same can happen with Jesus, we can tell Him everything. He has entrusted us with His life, His Word, and His promises, so we can tell Him our sins and frustrations.
Jesus' strategy to reach people was to befriend them and lead through discipleship, and He told us to do the same with our friends.

When He said goodbye to his friends prior to ascending to heaven, His last words were "go and make disciples (friends) ... surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).
The greatest response we can offer Jesus for all that He has done for us is to also give our lives to Him. If you don't know Him as a close friend, now is the opportunity to do that. Talk to Him and He will answer, ask and it will be given to you, knock and the door will be opened. The invitation is still open: be friends with Jesus today.
The real reason for Easter is Jesus!
Happy Easter!

Challenges of Women in the Mission Field
You can be part of this mission, being a collaborator
Who could imagine that after the death of 5 missionaries in a tribe in Ecuador, two widowed women would stay and evangelize the people who killed their husbands. For me, Ellisabeth Elliot's story continues to impact and inspire. Undeniably, God is the one who gives us the strength to advance and overcome the various challenges we face in the field. Even in the most difficult moments of life, such as mourning, we can not only obtain strength and divine comfort, but also the courage to continue and flourish.
The majority of missionaries among the least unreached people groups are women, even though many of these cultures consider them inferior to men. This should speak to our hearts, as it reveals the character of a God who reverses the logic of the world. So then, what is the role of women in the mission field? How do we reconcile marriage, motherhood, profession and calling?
Where and how we serve as missionaries does not depend on our gender. The Lord is calling us and we need to be willing to obey Him. The main focus for both men and women before God is to have a humble, servant, obedient and teachable heart.
Being a married missionary with children in the field means having an intentional ministry of care and assistance in the home and beyond. Married men and women develop their main ministry: the family. Women are first called to be helpers, consistent and strong bases for our husbands and children. We are the emotional basis of all family ministerial development. Men on the other hand govern their household as one serving a ministry through biblical guidance.(1 Tim. 3: 4).
Our fields of action may differ, and we need to be discerning to define our priorities with reverence. This means knowing that we cannot sacrifice the family because of the ministry and vice versa. Performing various functions, reconciling family care, job and vocation while maintaining balance is impossible if we do not obtain wisdom. This wisdom comes from the Lord, so we must pray constantly, asking God for direction to solve any and all challenges. Only in this way will we advance in the fulfillment of our mission. A wise woman is the heart of a house that stands unshakeable no matter the circumstances.
Regardless of the challenges, God has raised up courageous single and married women, and has enabled them to endure and act in spreading the good news. Whether in translation and evangelism, or in caring for children and the home, our role was given by God as essential to the fulfillment of His mission. May we continue in humility, living as servants with a teachable heart so that we may flourish in the field for the glory of God.

FEBRI'S STORY:
HE BELIEVETH IN ME
It is a fact that many people still don't know who Jesus is. I say this not only from my experience in Indonesia but from statistics about the world. The Joshua project reveals that there are still 7,414 unreached people groups in the world. It broke my heart when I saw this. Since graduating last year (2019) with a major in Agribusiness, I have decided to become a full-time "M-Worker". God's call is very strong in my heart.
He confirmed it through many signs. The Bible verse that really encouraged me to do this comes from Romans 10:14-15. I keep praying for the UUPG (a tribe that doesn't have anyone to tell them about Jesus). I want to see many people come to know Jesus, be faithful, available, and go out to reach unreached people groups (2 Timothy 2). My longing is to see the UUPG feel the love of Jesus and have direct access to Him. I believe that it will be in God's timing. (Revelation 7: 9-10)
The Vision:
Love God
Love People
Make disciples who love God and teach them to do the same
We know what it’s like to be rescued. And I believe God is calling us to restore hope to a hurting world ... we’ve been rescued to rescue.
Still now I continue to mobilize the young generation, especially students, to share about the Father's heart for the world - UUPG, a global mission, to become a Christian focused on carrying out the Great Commission, because it is not just a request but a commandment from God.
I took several months in 2020 to go to several UUPG in one certain island of Indonesia. God opened the door to go and enter one of these tribes. We had difficult access, spent hours riding motorbikes, walking and climbing kilometers
until finally arriving at the village without rain and the village head allowed me and my friends to enter! I believe this is because of His grace, because before many people said that access was too difficult and it was always accompanied by rain. Besides that, it was not possible to just enter this tribe freely. I’m so thankful for God's way of making smooth conversations with the village head and the people there. I was sad and thought how little they had contact with people outside their area and whether anyone had shared Jesus in this village. Please pray with me for the victory of Jesus to happen in this village in God's timing.

Also, there is another island, where 99.9% of the residents do not believe in Jesus. Many children drop out of school because they are unable to pay school fees or do not have a strong desire to study. There is also a low level of public health. Before leaving, I had prayed and got "Well Water" for this tribe. God led me to enter this tribe and the community was welcoming. I’m so thankful to be able to build bridges with the people there, show them God’s love,
pray and tell stories about Jesus Christ. My prayers confirm that the people there really need water sources and some of them are trying to make wells. Many of them feel dry at this time, both physically and spiritually. Please continue to pray with me that this island will receive the Living Water, which is Jesus who will fill their lives.
Village after village with a contrasting culture and atmosphere. I am honored to see and believe in God's movement.
Being His servant is an honor that Jesus has given me in my life. How amazing it is that Jesus entrusted me with a role to go, make disciples of all nations, baptize, and teach others to do everything that the Father commanded (Matthew 28: 19-20). In the midst of world chaos, God has taught me many things, one of which focuses on how to heal a wounded heart. I am learning about inner healing and how to apply it to those who are still in bitterness. The goal is a heart that can freely and enthusiastically worship God - this is my God-given longing. Walking with Jesus is an exciting adventure for me. Seeing the way Jesus connected me to the
people He highlighted and made everything happen.
My journey will not end here, I will continue to reach out to the lost and mobilize the young generation to know the heart of the Father for the nations. I would really appreciate if you pray for my people here in Indonesia, pray also for me to grow deeper in God’s love and in how to love Him, love people, and make disciples that will love God. Pray for the application of inner healing that can help many people to not live in bitterness. At last, would you pray for my finances as well? And pray for God to send people to help me in my journey with Him? Also, pray for a business idea related to my major – Agribusiness.

The theme of this year for World Nations International is "Friends for Eternity", based on Luke 16:9. Here Jesus teaches that we should be generous with our wealth in this life to bless others and make friends which will result in friendships that endure into eternity.

Bags of Hope II
During 2020, while schools closed and kids were left without assistance in Northern Brazil because of COVID, our workers delivered more than 500 Bags of Hope to impoverished children in the slums. In those bags were children's Bibles, activities, and school materials for the kids to have things to do while their schools were closed and they had no access to online education.
Because of your support we are also helping train 16 church planters in the area, who will soon be sharing the Gospel in the most impoverished and arid parts of the sertão* (*Brazilian backlands). Together with our partners we are sharing the gospel with about 1600 families!
Check out how happy and thankful the kids are when receiving their Bags of Hope
Thank you to all of our friends and partners that made it possible.

INTENTIONALITY is to take responsibility upon yourself. This is part of being a man.
In a world where people prefer to have pets over kids... having kids and training them to be trustworthy, just and responsible adults means intentionally swimming against the currents of worldly culture. But we have to do it - if not you and me, then who?
On this journey of fighting to become everything that God created me to be, including a father to my kids, I have learned that it will be a long process until my children actually learn and obey what I teach them. However, there is joy in the middle and I have understood that finding hope in the struggles is part of being alive and intentional. After all, what counts is the man in the arena.
During the harder moments I hold onto the promises that I can remember. Today I want to encourage you with this word:
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Let’s Start!

Hello, my name is Silvana, I'm Brazilian and currently I am serving the Lord in Indonesia. Since I started my journey in missions, I have learned to manage my financial life. But before going to missions, I was working in a government job. At that time, I had a lot of problems in my financial life and it took me a long time to learn how to properly manage the resources I had.
I used to have a good salary, but since I didn't know how to use it, I alway dealt with a lot of debt. So, in the end it was like I didn't have a good salary. I was once very indebted with my credit card, and I couldn't get out of it alone which was very shameful for me. So I shared this situation with a very close friend of mine and asked for a loan to pay off all my card debt. From then on, I became more careful with my finances.
However, after I resigned my job in 2009 that paid a fixed salary and retirement, I started to live literally by faith, because I never know how much will enter in my account, so I understand even more the importance of good planning and financial management. Currently, I am taking a finance course, in which I am learning not only about financial management, but also about investing the resources that I have in my hands.
As my teacher says, we need to learn how to “make the money work for you".
Below are some basic guidelines I have learned: - Do not commit yourself to debts that you cannot pay or will limit your budget for a long time. One thing is to live on the edge for a month or two, another thing is to live on the edge for more than three months. The ideal is not to live on the edge of your budget.
- Want to know if you are wasting money or spending more than necessary? For a month, write down exactly all your expenses on a notepad with the date, place and amount. Categorize each page and place the items correspondingly, for example: pharmacy, personal hygiene, fixed expenses, transport, restaurant etc. At the end of 30 days, add the items as per their classification and you will know if you're spending too much and where you can spend less. But you must write everything down.
- Make a good financial plan within your reality. Through the notes, mentioned above, you will be able to better plan for your financial life.
And I conclude, quoting Proverbs 3:9a: "Honor the Lord with all your means ...". Money is a resource that comes from the hands of God. If we know how to use it well and correctly, we will honor the Lord.
May we be good stewards of this resource that He has placed in our hands, knowing that nothing is ours because everything is His. However, as he is kind and generous, He blesses us with this resource.
